A Community Sanctuary
I created JMBC to bring focus and attention to the specific needs and experience of birthing South Asian, BIPOC, and immigrant families. As a community-focused practice, JMBC is a dedicated space for these communities and all allies. I am also committed to language and financial justice. I offer services in Spanish and am actively searching for HIPAA-compliant language support applications to provide care in additional languages. I accept Medicaid in Colorado State and I use the Green Bottle sliding scale method to help you decide how much you can afford to pay. I am also working to become contracted with insurance panels and offer free services with Lahai Health in Washington State.
In 2019, I birthed a baby and placenta, experiencing my own Janmodaya.
Janmodaya, (jan-MOH-thy-uh)
Sanskrit for 'dawn of new life'
I’ve stepped away from over-medicalized models of care to offer care that is intentional, grounded in meaningful evidence, and shaped by midwifery wisdom.
I've been asked so many times what made it possible for me to birth at home, without medication, whilst in so much pain.
My response?
